• Planning stage

We start by carefully defining the brief for your project and this often leads us into an options appraisal and feasibility study.

We will test different massing and layout options as well as conveying to you the qualities of the space we’ll create.

Upon agreement of a preferred scheme, the drawings will be progressed towards a planning or permitted development application.

All submissions to the local authority carefully consider the immediate context and our supporting design statement is an important component in receiving a positive decision.

  • Detailed Design / Construction Stage

With a detailed scope of works and supporting design information you are well placed to obtain comparative prices from contractors.

The detailed design set is prepared for Building Regulation compliance and by considering key details and interfaces at this stage, real value is found in the end result of the project.

At Studio Brightside we can assist you with reviewing tender returns, the selection of a contractor, site inspections, and contract administrator services through to completion.

  • Interiors

Our services typically include details and specification for joinery, bathrooms, lighting, as well as mood boards and colour palettes.

Whether you are clear on your desired aesthetic, or would like to be guided from the outset, we can tailor services to suit your needs.

  • Energy assessment

With the UK’s existing housing stock accounting for 20% of the annual carbon emissions, retrofitting these properties with energy improvements is crucial for the UK to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

From Spring 2023, Studio Brightside will be offering Energy Reports, Retrofit Assessment, Coordinator, and Designer Services in line with the Government’s Trustmark PAS 2035 quality scheme.

A ‘whole house retrofit plan’ with a ‘fabric first approach’ will be prepared for the project and site inspections carried out during the execution of the works.
